The Name
SEVEN -- It’s a name and a number with many connotations and associations: Lucky 7, Seven Seas, Seven Stars, and 007. In the Bible the number 7 is symbolic of completeness and perfection. The seventh day is a day of rest and appreciation for what God has provided.
We chose the name “SEVEN” for these associations and more. She is a 2023 Voyage 590, manufactured in Cape Town by Voyage Yachts, and she is Hull #07 of this model. When we heard that #7 was in production and available for sale in 2021, we knew it was meant to be.
July, the seventh month, is a special one for our family. Trevor and Kristin were married on July 5th. Kristin’s birthday is July 7th, and our son Brennan’s birthday is July 11th.
As a family one of our traditions has been watching a TV series on Netflix together every night. One of our favorites was Star Trek, and the “Voyager” series in particular. If you are a fellow Trekkie, you’ll immediately think of the beautiful Borg designated Seven of Nine, aka Seven. She was introduced in Season 3 as a human who had been assimilated by the Borg as a child. She was rescued by the Voyager crew, and her humanity was restored. However, she retained many Borg characteristics and technology, and we think that our Voyage 590 SEVEN shares many of these qualities.
Like her namesake, our SEVEN is strikingly beautiful, sleek, and curvaceous. She is also very practical, logical, intelligent, and technologically advanced. Like the Voyager starship, our Voyage 590 explores “strange new worlds,” but on and under the sea.
As you begin your voyage on SEVEN, we invite you to rest, relax, and appreciate the blessings in your life. Soak in the sun, the stars, the salty blue waters, and white sand beaches. As the Borg would say, “You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.” We hope you have a wonderful experience aboard SEVEN and take home many unforgettable memories.
